Meet Halima – A Mother with a Purpose

Hi everyone, I am Halima from Ladakh and a healthcare professional.
From my experience working in a NICU for years, I’ve come to understand the silent struggles of newborns and the heartbreak mothers feel when they are unable to provide sufficient milk something that deeply connects with me, as my mother also struggled with the same issue when I was born.

Turning a Personal Moment into a Purpose

So when I became a mother to my boy, who is 3 months old now, I realized I was producing a little more milk than he needed. That’s when the thought came to me why shouldn’t I use this opportunity to feed other babies who need it? I started storing extra milk and spent quite some time searching for a genuine organization that could help this liquid gold reach the right babies babies who truly need it to grow and thrive. And that’s when I came across this organization called SAVE BABIES on Instagram. I just clicked on “WISH TO DONATE MILK,” filled in the details, and within 1–2 days they contacted me.

A Smooth and Supportive Experience

From the very beginning, the entire process was so smooth and reassuring. The staff were extremely approachable, kind, and always ready to guide me. From timely blood investigations for screening (arranged by them at my doorstep) to proper coordination and milk pickup everything was handled so professionally and with so much care.

A Little Contribution from My Baby Too

As a mother, managing this along with taking care of my baby with just my husband wasn’t always easy but I truly feel grateful to my little one because honestly, milk supply depends on the baby’s demand and he made this possible for me. So in a way, this is his contribution too, as he also wanted to share his joy with other babies.

Inspired by a Legacy of Compassion

This act of donation is also deeply inspired by Halima Sadia my name comes from her, a very significant lady in Islamic history who used to travel to feed babies during times of famine and poverty in Arabia. One of those babies was Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). This story reminds us of the beauty of nurturing and caring for another child.

A Small Act, A Lifelong Impact

Being able to donate breast milk feels like a small but meaningful form of charity knowing that it might help another baby survive, grow, and stay healthy.

I am grateful to have donated nearly 5 liters of this “liquid gold.”

A Message to Other Mothers

I’m truly thankful to the entire team at Save Babies for making this journey so easy and so fulfilling. And to all the mothers out there if you are able to, this is something really beautiful you can consider.
